Malta received 1.8 million tourists by end of June – expenditure increases to €1,564.1 million

In the first six months of the year, more than 1.8 million tourists chose Malta for their holiday, an increase of 13.5% over the same period last year.

Figures from the National Statistics Office (NSO) show that between January and June, tourists spent €1,564 million in Malta, an increase of almost €273 million (more than 21%) over 2024.

June was confirmed as the sixth consecutive month which saw an increase in tourist arrivals to the Maltese islands. According to figures published by the NSO for June, the tourism industry has continued to achieve record results in terms of both the number of tourists who visited Malta, the nights they spent here and the money they spent in Malta.

The NSO figures also show that in June more than 387,000 tourists visited Malta, an increase of 10.8% over the same month last year.

It also emerged that the number of nights spent in Malta increased by 8.6% and reached 2.5 million nights. The average holiday in Malta exceeded six nights. Between them these tourists spent almost €396 million, which means an increase of more than €63 million, or 19.1%, more than June 2024. Per capita, tourists spent an average of €160 per night.
